Additional Summer School Info

SVUSD will be offering summer school IN-PERSON this summer. For more in-depth information about our summer program visit the Simi Valley Summer School website.

We encourage all of our students to attend our SVUSD program, but if you prefer to attend another program, there are several options available.  *It is your responsibility to confirm that the outside provider and classes you choose meet A-G or NCAA requirements.

Please be reminded that students are only permitted to take specific courses approved by their counselor for “GoAhead” classes.

Also note that when you apply to college, you will need to list each school that you have attended and the credits earned at those schools.  And when it’s time to send your final high school transcript to the college of your choice, you will need to submit transcripts from each school you attended.   This is one reason that most students prefer to attend the SVUSD summer program.

 Here are some alternative options:

  1. IvyTech - Fully online:  https://www.ivytechcharterschool.org/.  No referral form / approval required.

  1. Method Schools - Fully Online: https://www.methodschools.org/enroll  (you would click on the link to enroll in 2020-2021, which begins on July 1st).  No referral form / approval required. Method offers select Honors and AP courses.

  1. Mission Academy -Fully Online: https://missionacademyhs.org/enroll/  (click on the link to enroll in their July program - see referral form as well).

  1. Moorpark College via Dual Enrollment - Fully Online:  Please speak to your counselor about this option, as a referral agreement (MOU) needs to be signed. This is a great option to not only achieve credits for high school, but also begin your college transcript (they offer several classes that can count as a VPA, such as Music Appreciation, Art Appreciation, Intro to Theater, etc.).  If interested, here’s the DE Checklist with a step-by-step process, including helpful video tutorials.

  2. Opportunities for Learning (OFL) - Fully Online:  July Intersession GoogleForm   *Must be 14 by July 1 to enroll  and participate at OFL.

  1. River Oaks Summer Academy -Online and some in person: https://www.riveroakscharter.com/summer-academy/ (click on the link to enroll in their July program -see referral form as well). *NCAA approved

  1. Vista Real (Learn for Life) - Fully Online:  https://vrchs.org/summer-school/ - online registration form, as well as a referral form required.

Please contact your counselor if you have any questions. If you need a referral form signed, please scan and email your counselor before June 4.
