TA Class and Flex
Teacher Advisement (TA) Class and Flex are part of the regular school schedule at Simi Valley High School. Attendance is required for both TA Class and Flex.
TA Class usually takes place on Mondays. Flex usually takes place on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Schedules may vary for special events, testing, minimum days, finals, or other school needs.
TA Class
TA Class is a required advisory period. Students meet with their Teacher Advisor, also known as their TA teacher. Attendance is taken during TA Class.
During TA Class, students may receive school information, complete required school activities, and sign up for Flex using Minga or another school-approved system.
Flex
Flex is a required period that gives students time for academic support, make-up work, test make-ups, teacher-requested support, study time, or other school-approved activities.
Students are responsible for signing up for Flex each week during TA Class, usually on Mondays, using Minga. Students must attend the Flex session they selected or were assigned/requested to attend by a teacher.
Students should not rely on teachers to add them to Flex unless directed by school staff.
Flex Attendance
Attendance is taken during Flex. Students who do not sign up for Flex, sign up for one session but attend another, or do not attend their assigned/requested session may be marked absent.
If a student believes a Flex absence was marked by mistake, the student should follow the Attendance Office correction process.
Need Help?
Students who have difficulty accessing Minga or signing up for Flex should ask for help from the ASB Office or appropriate school staff.
