Pioneer Orientation 2026
Pioneer Orientation at Simi Valley High School helps students prepare for the new school year. Students and families should review the information below and attend during the assigned day and time.
What to Do During Orientation
During orientation, students will complete beginning-of-year tasks, including receiving their fall class schedule, purchasing Pioneer Packages and items from the ASB Office, taking their school picture, receiving a student ID card, selecting a locker, and picking up textbooks.

Students who cannot attend their assigned orientation day should attend Makeup Orientation.
Freshman Premiere: Class of 2030 Welcome Night
Thursday, August 6
Time: 5:30 PM – 7:00 PM
Location: Pioneer Plaza and SVHS Library
Freshmen and their families are invited to Freshman Premiere, the kickoff rally and welcome night for the Class of 2030. Activities include picking up class schedules, touring the school, purchasing spirit wear, and meeting staff and students. The evening will also feature free giveaways and free ice cream.
Freshmen should still attend Freshman Orientation on Friday, August 7, to take their school picture, receive their student ID card, select a locker, pick up textbooks, and complete any remaining beginning-of-year tasks.
Pioneer Packages

Pioneer Packages are optional bundles that combine an ASB Card, student event tickets, and selected beginning-of-year items at discounted package prices during Pioneer Orientation.
This year, Gold and Maroon package prices are lower than last year, and new All-In options provide additional savings on the 2026–2027 yearbook and, for seniors, graduation items.

Both Senior packages include a guaranteed Grad Nite ticket for the purchasing senior, subject to student eligibility and completion of all required contracts and forms. A limited number of individual Grad Nite tickets will be offered later, subject to availability.
ASB Card Benefits
Every Pioneer Package includes an ASB Card.
ASB Card benefits include:
- Free admission to eligible regular-season home athletic events
- $10 off Homecoming Dance
- $10 off WinterFest
- Discounts on select senior events
- 10% off eligible spirit wear and accessories
- ASB Card Member Exclusives, including member-only treats and activities, event ticket offers, special promotions, pop-up activities, and other member benefits throughout the school year
WinterFest
WinterFest is a new schoolwide event tentatively planned for January 30, 2027. Current plans include a glow dance, games, activities, and a winter-themed experience. Additional details will be shared as plans are finalized.
Purchasing Pioneer Packages
Pioneer Packages are available only during Pioneer Orientation and Makeup Orientation, with sales ending Tuesday, August 11. Packages may be purchased in person at the SVHS Library during the student’s assigned Pioneer Orientation date and time.

Checks are not accepted.

Important Information
Pioneer Packages and ASB Cards are optional. Families may purchase a Pioneer Package, purchase an ASB Card separately, or purchase available items and event tickets individually during their published sales periods, subject to availability.
Students must complete the SVUSD Dance & Event Contract before attending any dance or ticketed event included in a Pioneer Package. Seniors must also complete the SVUSD Senior Contract.
The yearbook included in an All-In package cannot be personalized. Graduation announcements, invitations, and other optional graduation products may be ordered separately through Jostens when vendor sales open.
Individual purchase values and package savings include applicable sales tax and mandatory outside purchasing fees. Applicable sales tax is charged only on taxable merchandise included in each package.
Free admission to eligible regular-season home athletic events with an ASB Card does not apply to CIF playoff contests or other specially ticketed events.
Dates, prices, availability, taxes, fees, and event details are subject to change.
Our student programs are enhanced through the generous support of families, alumni, community partners, and booster organizations. Voluntary donations and optional purchases help provide additional opportunities and resources beyond regular school funding. Participation in an educational activity is never conditioned on a financial contribution, and no student will be denied the opportunity to participate based on whether a contribution is made.
