2 ) The National Latino Peace Officers Association Ventura County Chapter (NLPOAVC) has opened the Scholarship application process for
students. Applicants can submit applications through April 8, 2022. The application can be downloaded and printed from our website at
www.nlpoaventuracounty.com/scholarship/. Printed applications can be mailed along with transcripts. The application is now also available to be accessed and submitted online by visiting https://tinyurl.com/yrkb9jr5. Official transcripts can be scanned and submitted online or mailed in.

This prestigious annual event is the premier community outreach by the Ventura County Chapter. All our fundraising events throughout the year focused on raising money to award scholarships to students seeking educational goals. Last year, our chapter awarded 17 scholarships in the amount of $1,000 each, which included memorial scholarships dedicated in the names of prominent and high achieving latinos in our community. Scholarship recipients will be recognized at the annual Scholarship Awards Banquet, scheduled for Thursday, April 28, 2022.

Selection Criteria:
1. Applicants must be high school seniors or college students residing in Ventura County.
2. Applicants must submit an official transcript.
3. Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 2.75 with no D or F in all completed course work.
4. Applicants must demonstrate community service and/or involvement.

The National Latino Peace Officers’ Association is committed to helping students pursue a higher education. Students need not be Latino, but merely promote diversity in school and in the workplace. Consideration will be given to those students interested in law enforcement careers.

3) Simi Valley Elks is giving out  $1,000.00 scholarship to a stand out student.  The student should have a good GPA along with community service records and in need financially.  The senior must be enrolled in the school and we require proof of enrollment so we send the check to the school directly.  The deadline for the applications is Friday, May 20, 2022. At the end of the school year the Elks will host a banquet for the scholarship recipients and their parents.  Award certificates will be handed out at that time.  The banquet is still to be determined. PICK UP AN APPLICATION FROM THE COUNSELING OFFICE OR EMAIL YOUR COUNSELOR FOR A DIGITAL COPY.
