Summer School

SVUSD offers an in-person Summer School program from July 1 to July 26, hosted at Santa Susana High School. Additional details about the program and registration links will be provided by the district. Participation in the SVUSD program is encouraged, and students have the flexibility to explore other accredited options.

Responsibility and Accreditation

Students should sign up for summer school independently. When considering external programs, it's important to verify that the provider is accredited by WASC and meets A-G or NCAA requirements, if applicable.

Get Ahead Courses

Students may enroll in approved "Get Ahead" courses in English, Math, Science, and History, subject to counselor approval. Eligible students can take up to 10 credits (2 classes) or one college course equivalent to 10 high school credits. Note: "Get Ahead" courses must be completed in person through SVUSD or a community college for credit.

Credit Remediation

For credit recovery, students can enroll in up to 10 credits (2 classes) of summer school through SVUSD or any accredited provider. With counselor approval, a third 5-credit class may be taken in June or July through Simi Institute Careers & Education (SICE/Adult Ed).
