PIONEER ATHLETICS

Updated on December 14, 2020 to add that individuals should limit their sport activities to their own households in counties under the Regional Stay at Home Order. Inter-team competitions (i.e., between two teams) are prohibited in California until January 25, 2021, at the earliest, based on the guidelines outlined in this document. The return-to-competition date will be reassessed by January 4, 2021 based on California disease transmission trends and is subject to change at any time given the level of COVID-19 transmission in California. Teams must not participate in out-of-state tournaments.

Conditioning for all Athletic programs may start on Monday, September 21, 2020. The above form must be collected by the coach of your athletes POD on the first day of conditioning. All programs must practice/condition outdoors until further notice. All programs are currently conditioning in person, only. 

 POD formations: 
  1. A specific POD can not be activated until the coach of the specific POD is cleared. If a coach is absent, they will not have conditioning that day.
  2. Athletes can not participate in PODS until they are cleared. If an athlete is absent, that spot may not be filled.
  3. PODS must be staggered in at least 15 minute increments for start times or have different entry points to the campus.
  4.  Physical distancing of 6 feet must be upheld at all times within pods, while no pods are to be within 30 feet of each other. 
  5. Masks must be worn when walking in from the parking lot, in during drills and when walking away from practice until you exit campus. The only time masks can be taken off are during strenuous exercise. They must immediately be put back on. 
 Participating Athlete Requirements:
  1. Must be on the official current Aeries class roster for this term.
  2. Can only participate in one sport (one POD).
  3. Completed the Athletic Registration Packet and cleared by the athletics office. 
  4. Complete the SVUSD Fall Conditioning form and turn into the POD coach on the first day allowed to condition in their POD.
  5. Complete the daily COVID 19 assessment.
